LABORATORY DIAGNOSTICS

“L'Arca” has an on-site laboratory which is equipped to very quickly deal with the majority of the analyses used in our practice eg blood counts (with leucocytic formula), biochemical examinations (general profiles, pre-anaesthesiological profiles, hepatic profiles, renal profiles, electrolyte profiles, phenolbarbital blood concentration monitoring, UPC ratio), serological tests (Leishmania, Heartworms, blood parasites, FIV, FeLV), coagulative profiles, blood gas analysis (venous or arterial bood), coprological examinations (microscopic by flotation, ELISA test for Giardiasis), urinary examinations (chemical-physical examination and microscopic examination of the sediment), fungal cultures, cytological examinations.

“L'Arca” also works in collaboration with two private external laboratories, with various Universities (Perugia, Pisa, Turin, Bologna and Naples) and with IZS (Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale – Lazio/Tuscany and Umbria/Marche). It is to these specialist centres that the most complicated tests that cannot be handled in-house are delegated.
